I have come across many people who are confused about what a medical spa really is. The name also falls under medi-spa or medical spa.
By now, most people have heard the name mentioned and are now trying to figure out what kind of services would benefit them or perhaps you’ve had a friend who has had treatments and continues to look radiant regardless of age.
A Med Spa is a blend between a spa experience and medical practice. A med spa follows the same guidelines as a regular doctor's office but all the treatments and procedures are optional. Meaning, a provider has to approve your treatment and/or procedure in order for the service to be performed.
The procedures offered in a med spa take a peaceful and soothing approach, like a traditional spa, but offer more complex procedures or/and treatments only administered by a licensed professional (doctor, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, and nurse).
The menu at a med spa can vary greatly depending on the speciality of the practice. In general, you can expect to find treatments for acne, acne scarring, aging skin, wrinkle reduction, sun spots, hair removal, hair growth, dermal fillers, IV/ injectable nutrition and more.
A consultation is completed with every visit to meet the client’s individual needs. Whether it be a nutritional based visit focusing more on functional medicine using IV therapy or a visit focusing more on anti aging using aesthetic techniques, having a plan is key to meet your individual goals.
All in all, the goal of a medical spa is to make you feel good inside and out using the many different treatments and procedures to achieve the best outcome.
